Activities at Zubyria
Zubyria is an undeveloped part of Ukraine and so the best way to enjoy it is to explore the nature in the area.
EXPLORING THE VILLAGE
The approximately 200 residents of the hamlet engage in a variety of activities including bee keeping, cow-milking, mushroom-hunting, jam-making and flavored vodka-brewing. There is also a church, a tiny outdoor flower and vegetable market, and a remarkably cozy theater.
Outdoor Activity Center - AvAnturist
This semi-private activity area offers the ability to rent canoes, kayaks, go fishing, swimming pool, experience a banya, archery, zipline, volleyball, tennis, picnic with bbq (mangal) and much more.
Nature Hikes & River activities
Since Zubyria sits between a forest preserve and a river, there are beautiful things to see in many directions. You can explore on foot, bicycle, sidecar motorcycle, jeep, kayak or snowshoe. A deserted island larger than Manhattan can also be explored and used for camping.
Visit the Zalissiya forest preserve
Zubyria is a ten minute walk to the border of this 40,000 hectare forest preserve, which is home to some of the last wild European bison ("Zubyr" in Ukrainian) and an official Presidential residence for hosting foreign dignitaries. In addition to simply exploring the forest, you can visit its "Museum of Nature," go horseback riding, and see the hunting lodges of Khrushchev, Brezhnev, and Castro (hunting was abolished when Ukraine became independent).
